August 24-2012 A flea-ing we will go!

Made a trip to a small local flea market this morning looking for a treasure.
Found this amazing fabric.
A solid earthy and organic herringbone and a beautful Ralph Lauren blue floral , both in a linen/cotton blend. Yummolicious! Excited to make a treasurebag or two and some wristruths to boot. Let me know if you're interested. Couldn't get much!

Show off your collections! Take them out of your cabinets and closets! Hang them on the wall, put them on your counter, stack them, show them off. Be bold about the things you love! These are a few of mine...aah, did I mention a few?! I'm a little obsessed with things I love but that's okay. God made me that way. That's my story and I'm stickin to it. ha
This is a small sampling of a plate collection I have around the entrance into my kitchen.

I have a heart rock collection...these are some of the smaller heart-ish looking rocks my boys have picked up for me. They remind me to keep my heart soft not hard.

Bowls! Oh how I love thee! Not the easiest to get to when you need the one on the bottom but a BEAUTIFL display and thats what matters...beauty before function...sometimes.

This is a small portion of my cross wall collection. It speaks for itself.

My cup runneth over. I have this big wire basket filled with my favorite coffee mugs. Handy as candy!

Books! What amazing things you can do with books. I've even stacked a big pile high next to a chair to use when I  didn't have a side table I liked. Cutey!

Share some of the things you like to collect! Or better yet start a new one! Beat ya' to it!

If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship from His Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Philippians 2:1-2 NIV

I put a couple of creative, very simple touches on the house today. Can I share a few simple ideas to add a little touch of Autumn to your home ? Little blips of Fall,  inside and out. I'm thinkin,  savor these  Fall days because we all know what's coming! EEK! or shall I say Brrrrrrrrrr.

This is a funky way to display mini pumpkins and gourds...Use your old and new candlesticks for something other than candles.

Fill a hanging basket with fresh cut hydrangeas. They'll eventually dry out and still look great! Add a sign and WALLA! Whimsical door decor.
This is the look without the sign. FRESH!
Don't put away that wicker just yet! Add a cute pumpkin pillow to it just until the snow flies. This pillow is made out of felt! You could probably even make this. (in all your free time...NOT!)

More creative ideas brewing...
